An advance screening of the TV anime "mono," based on the manga by Afro, known for "Laid-Back Camp," was held on April 5th at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku, Tokyo), with voice actors Kazuki Mikawa, Aoi Koga, Hikaru Tono, Reina Ueda, and Maki Kawase in attendance. Ueda, who plays Haruno Akiyama, said she didn't feel confident at the audition, but "when we were talking with the other five, it was so much fun, and I remember thinking, maybe I can do my best with these five people! It's all thanks to everyone that we were able to make it through to the final episode."
Kawase, who plays Komada Hanako, said, "The love from the cast and staff is incredible. I would be so happy if that love reaches everyone." Tono, who plays Shikishima Sakurako, said, "When the recording finished I felt a sense of accomplishment, but also a sense of loneliness. But I'm feeling a little better now, knowing that this is where it all begins. I think it's a work that will leave a lasting impression on you if you watch until the final episode, wondering what mono is."
The series is based on a manga currently being serialized in "Manga Time Kirara Carat" (Houbunsha), and depicts the daily lives of high school girls in the "Cinephoto Club", a merger of the photography club and the video studies club. It will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations from April 12th.
