Actor Kawai Michiko and her husband, actor Minemura Junichi, will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on April 3rd. Kawai suffered a cerebral hemorrhage nine years ago at the age of 47, and is still paralyzed on her right side.
Because of this experience, he had ample knowledge about the early symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage, and when he was hit with a severe headache last November, he didn't call an ambulance because none of the symptoms matched. He drove to the hospital and was diagnosed with cerebral hemorrhage. As he regularly urges people to "call an ambulance immediately" at lectures and other events, he spoke to Kuroyanagi about what he learned from this experience.
He married Minemura, who supported him through his fight against the disease, the year after he first developed the disease. The couple moved to a mountain village in Hyogo Prefecture and began a life in the countryside.
