McDonald's will start a new campaign called "Yorimichi Mac (Detour Mac)" on April 2nd. As the first step, they will sell three products for a limited time, including the "Strawberry Condensed Milk Frappe." The actresses Suzu Hirose and Aoi Miyazaki are the CM characters, playing sisters.
The campaign's concept is to encourage people to drop by McDonald's in their daily lives and enjoy a frappe or a sweet. The three products to be released on April 2nd are: "Strawberry Condensed Milk Frappe," which is a perfect match of the refreshing taste of strawberry and the gentle sweetness of milky condensed milk; "Uji Matcha Frappe," which combines matcha powder made from Uji matcha with smooth milk; and "Peach & Peach Macaron," a fluffy, crispy pastry with almonds and a filling made from two types of fruit juice, yellow peach and white peach.
In the TV commercial that will begin airing on April 1st, Hirose and Miyazaki, who play sisters, take a detour to McDonald's, enjoying the limited-edition "Strawberry Condensed Milk Frappe" and "Uji Matcha Frappe" on an evening drive, set to a parody of PUFFY's own song "Kore ga Watashi no Ikiru Michi."
Hirose said of her feelings about working with Miyazaki, "I'm happy, but I'm also nervous (laughs)." Meanwhile, Miyazaki, who plays the older sister, said, "Because I'm playing sisters with Hirose, I've been getting acupuncture and other things to get myself in shape. So that I'll be okay even when I'm next to her (laughs)," adding to the excitement.
