It was announced on January 1st that Historie, a manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki Iwaaki, known for works such as Parasyte , will be adapted into a television anime. The series has been serialized in Afternoon (Kodansha) since 2003 and is a historical epic set in the pre-Christian era, depicting the turbulent life of Eumenes, who later became Alexander the Great's secretary. Twelve volumes of the manga have been released, with a total circulation of over 4.7 million copies. Liden Films will produce the anime.

Original author Iwaaki commented, "I would like to thank everyone involved in the production of this anime. The idea for the story was born over 40 years ago, and drawings on paper began to be created in a small workroom over 20 years ago. Now, I would like to celebrate from the bottom of my heart that it has been given moving life by the hands of so many people."

The first teaser visual, a teaser PV that hints at a long journey, has been released, depicting the protagonist Eumenes walking out with the city of Cardia and a round horizon behind him.

Official X (@historie_off) will be running a campaign where one lucky winner will receive an autographed illustration card from Iwaaki.
