Actor Mone Kamishiraishi appeared on "Minna no Best Kohaku Broadcast 100th Anniversary Special" broadcast on NHK General TV on March 25th. She performed a duet with singer AI, singing "Aldebaran," the theme song for the Asadora drama "Kumkum Everybody," in which she played the lead role.
Before singing, AI said with a smile, "I can't wait. I can't believe I get to sing with Yasuko." Kamishiraishi said enthusiastically, "Thank you. I'll do my best to represent the Come Come family."
After the performance, Kamishiraishi and AI embraced each other, and AI said with a smile, "I'm so happy." Kamishiraishi said, "I'll be proud of you forever. Thank you."
On social media, there was a lot of reaction, with comments such as "This is what it means to be overwhelmed with emotion," "AI and Mone's singing voices are godlike!" "This is a must-have," "AI x Mone Kamishiraishi's Aldebaran has me in tears," and "It's so good, I've been listening to it over and over again."
"Kumu Kum Everybody" is a 100-year-old family story woven by three heroines, a first in the history of Asadora. Set in Kyoto, Okayama, and Osaka, it depicts three generations of parents and children - a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter - who have grown up together with a radio English course. Kamishiraishi plays the grandmother Yasuko, Fukatsu Eri plays the mother Rui, and Kawaei Rina plays the daughter Hinata, passing the baton to her.
