An event for the anime " Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ," based on the popular manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, was held on March 22nd at AnimeJapan 2025, one of the world's largest anime events, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Tanjiro Kamado Hanae, who plays Natsuki Hanae Kamado, Hiro Hiro Shimono , who plays Zenitsu Agatsuma , Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who plays Yoshitsugu Matsuoka , Reina Inosuke Hashibira , who plays Kanao Tsuyuri, and Reina Ueda Okamoto, who plays Genya Shinazugawa , appeared at the event, marking the first time since the series began that all the voice actors who play the Demon Slaying Corps' fellow members were gathered at the event.
In the "Soldier Selection" corner, where the voice actors talk about their favorite episodes, Okamoto chose a scene from episode 6 of the "Swordsmith Village Arc." When asked why he chose it, he said, "Up until now, Genya had been encouraging himself, but the first time he felt like giving up, Tanjiro said, 'Don't give up!' And when I heard Hanae's voice at the recording studio, I felt excited too. I thought he was the main character after all." Hanae also said, "I also like Tanjiro's lines so much that they rank highly among his." Next, Okamoto chose a scene from episode 7 of the "Mugen Train," and when asked why he chose it, he said, "It's a scene that you can watch over and over again. It was the scene where Rengoku and Akaza fight, and I was overwhelmed by the power, and even when I look back at it now, it's full of great lines..."
Ueda chose a scene from episode 24 of "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc." She explained her reason for choosing the scene, saying, "It was the first time I saw what was in her heart, and it made me like Shinobu even more. I think that her own sadness and conflict are great because she has kindness for others and the ability to truly care for people. When I see Shinobu like that, I wonder what I would do if I were in Kanao's position, and I'm sure I would want to become stronger so that I could protect Shinobu both physically and mentally."
She continued, choosing a scene from episode 2, "Hashira Training Arc," saying, "It was a nice scene to see Kanao become able to express her feelings honestly, and I also like the look on Shinobu's face after she told me, 'I wanted to practice more.' It was the first time I had a scene where I had a proper conversation with Shinobu, so both Hayami (Saori), who plays Shinobu, and I enjoyed the recording, saying things like, 'I'm so glad,'"
Finally, Hanae, on behalf of the group, gave a closing speech, saying, "Thank you all for gathering here today. I think it was a great performance that all five of us were able to gather on stage at AnimeJapan. I hope you will look forward to the performances of not only the Pillars, but also our five classmates in the Infinity Castle Arc, so in the meantime, I hope you will be getting ready and watching the Demon Slayer Theater and the revival screening of the Mugen Train. Thank you very much for today!"
