"Shinjuku Anime Song Scope" is a website where anime buyer Higuchi Sho from Tower Records Shinjuku, known for its extensive selection of anime songs, reports on best-selling anime songs and the voices of those selling them. The number one album at the store from March 9th to 16th was "Polyphony," the second album by Morfonica, a band from the popular anime and game series "BanG Dream!".

Morfonica is a girls band from "BanG Dream!" formed by first-year students at Tsukinomori Girls' Academy, a prestigious school for young ladies, and celebrated their fifth anniversary in March this year. Their number one album, "Polyphony," is the band's first full album in about two years, and includes 12 songs in total, including the newly written lead song "Polyphonyscape," which has the theme of "the current scenery," as well as the Christmas song "Merry Merry Thanks!!" and the mysterious Halloween song "Tirikamonikarilla."

Among the first-time entries are Tsukimura Temari's "Tsukimura Temari 2nd Single "IV"," Fujita Kotone's "Fujita Kotone 2nd Single "Yellow Big Bang!," and Hanami Saki's "Hanaumi Saki 2nd Single "Boom Boom Pow"," from the second single series of "Gakuen Idolmaster (Gakumas)," a completely new smartphone app from the popular "The Idolmaster (Idolmaster)" game series, which ranked in at 6th and 7th place in succession.

Three units from the popular anime series "Love Live!", the virtual school idol group "Hasunozora Girls' Academy School Idol Club," will release new singles: Cherry Bouquet's fifth single "Yumewazurai," DOLLCHESTRA's fifth single "COMPASS," and Mirakura Park!'s fourth single "Zenpoi Kyun." We're also keeping our eyes peeled for voice actress and singer Nana Mizuki's new album "CONTEMPORARY EMOTION," her first in about two and a half years.

Higuchi Sho is a buyer in charge of anime at Tower Records Shinjuku store, 7th floor (Japanese music/sales promotion). He was transferred from the Machida store in 2014. He got into anime because of 1990s works such as "Neon Genesis Evangelion", "BLUE SEED", and "VS Knight Ramune & 40 Flame", and among anime songs, he loves character songs, especially songs related to idol anime. His favorite anthem is "Up! 10sion Pleeeeeeeeease!" from "The Idolmaster Million Live!". His favorite anime and games include "Pretty Rhythm", "The Idolmaster", "Photo Kano", and "Sakura Wars".
