To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the popular Digimon TV anime "Digimon Adventure 02," a toy based on the popular Digimon anime and games, Bandai will release the toy "D-3 DIGIMON DETECT & DISCOVER -25th COLOR EVOLUTION-." The toy is an update to the "D-3" released in 2000, with a color LCD screen and other features. The lineup includes "Motomiya Daisuke Color" and "Ichijoji Ken Color" (11,000 yen each), as well as the "DX Set Piledramon Color" (16,500 yen), which has been given added detail by adding glitter molding.
It has been newly designed based on the toy released in 2000, and is equipped with a color LCD screen, rechargeable battery, and vibration motor. The color LCD screen allows not only the characters but also the background to be in color. Not only Digimon but also the "chosen children", Taichi and his friends who are now middle school students, the Digimon Kaiser, Arukenimon, Meemon, and Yukio Oikawa appear. It includes over 120 Digimon including partner Digimon, and boss Digimon also appear. It can also play the background music "Target - Red Shock - (TV size)" and newly recorded voices for partner Digimon. When Tortoise evolves, anime-like images are displayed and it also has a vibration gimmick.
Pre-orders are being accepted on Bandai Namco Group's shopping site, Premium Bandai. Shipment is scheduled for July.
