The manga "Maou no Ichi," written by Nishi Osamu, known for the manga "Welcome to Demon School! Iruma Ichi the Witch, has appeared on the cover and in the opening color pages of the 15th issue of the serialized magazine "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), released on March 10th. The opening color pages are "extra large" five pages, and although Furudate Haruichi's "Haikyu!!" also had a similar extra large five-page color page in 2012, this is said to be unusual for the magazine. The cover and opening color pages are to commemorate the start of the new chapter, "Bakugami Arc." The appendix is a flake sticker sheet designed with popular characters from the series.
"Ichi the Witch" began serialization in the magazine in September 2024. The first volume of the comic, released on January 4th, featured a comment from "My Hero Academia" author Kohei Horikoshi on the cover, and it sold out immediately after its release, leading to an emergency reprint. The second volume, released on March 3rd, has been gaining popularity, with the total number of copies published exceeding 300,000.
The story is set in a world where there are hunters called "witches" who hunt living creatures and learn their magic, but a hunter living in the mountains who has no connection to witches or magic overturns the common sense of the world.
