Actor Chihiro Yamamoto, who will be appearing in the period drama "Hagure Karasu," scheduled to air on TV Oita in July 2025, recently held a press conference after filming in Kyoto. This is a period drama commemorating the 55th anniversary of the launch of TOS, and Yamamoto, who plays the heroine Eiri, said, "I'm approaching every scene with the hope that Eiri will be a woman who is naturally cheerful where she can, but also has a certain fragility to her.
"Hagure Karasu" is based on the novel of the same name by Akagami Ryo (Shueisha). It is a tale of revenge by the protagonist, who is the only one to escape a horrific incident that occurred in the Takeda domain of Bungo Province in 1666. Fuju Kamio plays the lead role, and Shiina Kippei plays the arch enemy. Also appearing is Zaizen Naomi, who is from Oita Prefecture. The show is scheduled to air on BS11 and other stations.
Regarding his role, Yamamoto said, "There were many things I did for the first time, such as mannerisms," and revealed his impression that "I felt like I had a lot to carry on my shoulders."
There were also some tense scenes filmed, but looking back, she said, "Today was actually the first time I made eye contact with my father (Shiina) and acted, so it was a very emotional day." She added, "I really feel that the location shooting in Oita, where we first started filming, was wonderful. It was also a very important scene, and I really felt that the scenery and feelings I saw there were remembered and came alive during filming, so I hope that viewers will be able to watch the filming background as well."
