It has been revealed that actor Nakano Hideo will be co-starring with Toshiaki Karasawa and Honami Suzuki in the TV drama "Private Banker" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), for the first time in about 33 years since "In the Name of Love" (Fuji TV, 1992).
Nakano gained attention for playing the earnest young man "Choro" (aka Kurata Atsushi) in "In the Name of Love." Regarding his appearance in this film, he said with a smile, "I've been in contact with Karasawa since it was decided that I'll be in the film, and he sent me an email saying, 'There are a lot of long takes, so make sure you remember your lines properly,' and I thought, what a lot of pressure (laughs). But since "In the Name of Love," he was always putting pressure on me and always getting told off, so I was happy and nostalgic that he was back."
It was his first reunion with Suzuki since their wrap party 33 years ago. "I had thought that we might never work together again, so I was deeply moved to be able to work with her this time. Honami Suzuki is an incredibly great person to me, so it was the greatest joy for me," he said with a cheerful voice.
Regarding the filming, he recalled, "When I actually worked with him again after a long time, I realized that Karasawa-kun hasn't changed at all. He was talking all the time, so even though I wanted to respond with my lines, I had to listen to what he was saying the whole time. But that's his way of improving the atmosphere on set, so I enjoyed that feeling for the first time in a while."
Regarding the character he will be playing, Takazaki, he said, "I can't say much about it yet," but added, "This is the first time I've co-starred with Karasawa-kun and Honami-san in 33 years, so I think you can sense my joy and the tension I felt in front of Honami-san on screen, and I hope that viewers will enjoy that as well."
The drama is an original story that focuses on a private banker who advises the wealthy on how to manage and build their assets. Koichi Anno (played by Karasawa), a highly skilled private banker, solves various financial problems of the wealthy Tenmuji family. The total number of missed broadcasts has exceeded 11 million (as of February 18th, according to Video Research). The seventh episode will be broadcast on the 20th.
