It has been revealed that actress Riho Sayashi will appear in the NHK drama series "Watashitte Saba Saba Shiteru Kara 2," starring Rei Maruyama. Following on from the previous series, she will play Kiuchi Shizue, a colleague of the protagonist Nami Amihama, played by Maruyama, from her time at the editorial department.
This work is a sequel to "I'm a straightforward person" which was broadcast in 2023. As always, Nami Amihama, whose catchphrase is "I'm a straightforward person," depicts her struggle in a new environment. This time, the "High School Teacher Edition" will feature her working as a teacher at the prestigious school, Hoshikai High School, and the "Marriage Hunting Edition" will feature her diving into the world of marriage hunting.
In addition to Sayashi, Chiaki Kuriyama will be reprising her role as Kyoko Saotome, Amihama's rival, and Takashi Sasano will be reprising his role as Mitsuo Sendo, the president of the publishing company. It was also announced that Riki Honda, Yumi Wakatsuki, and Shiho Sasaki will be continuing to appear in the series after the previous one.
Lead actress Maruyama commented, "As in the previous film, the other cast members are at the mercy of Amihama, and there is a sense of security in knowing that no matter how much he messes around, they will bounce back. Although they only co-starred for a few hours, it reminded me of the burning desire I felt to make Sasano-san laugh in the previous film. His visuals are so different from the character's, it's hilarious. "Watashitte Saba Saba Shiteru Kara 2" will be broadcast on NHK BS Premium 4K every Wednesday at 12:15 a.m. starting February 5th (20 episodes total). It was also announced that it will be broadcast on terrestrial TV in the "Yorudora" time slot (General TV, Monday to Thursday 10:45 a.m.) starting May 5th. Season 1 will also be rebroadcast in the same time slot starting March 31st.
