It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "Ao no Orchestra," based on a youth manga set in a high school orchestra club, will be broadcast on NHK Educational TV in the fall of 2025. The second season will have a total of 21 episodes. A teaser visual depicting former genius violinist Aono Hajime performing has been released. NHK Educational TV will rebroadcast the first season (24 episodes) every Sunday at 5pm starting in April.
"Ao no Orchestra" is a manga by Makoto Akui that has been serialized since 2017 on Shogakukan's manga site "Ura Sunday" and manga app "Manga One". The story is set in a powerful high school orchestra club and depicts the members' friendly competition. Aono Hajime, a genius boy who stopped playing the violin for a certain reason, begins to play the violin again after meeting a girl.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to October 2023.
