The winners of the 48th Japan Academy Awards were announced on January 21st, with the five films selected for the Outstanding Animation Award being "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom," "Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump," "Detective Conan: One million dollar guidepost,""Lookback Ganbatte Ikimasshoi."
The Japan Academy Prize was established to promote the advancement of Japanese cinema arts, technology, and science, and the selection is carried out by votes from the members of the Japan Academy Prize Association. This year's selection covers films released between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
The grand prize winners in each category will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on March 14th.
