The first animated feature film based on the popular smartphone game "Project SEKAI Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku (ProSeka)," "Project SEKAI The Movie: A Broken World and Miku Who Can't Sing" (directed by Hata Hiroyuki), was released in 148 theaters on January 17th, and it was revealed that the box office revenue exceeded 300 million yen in three days. The number of moviegoers was recorded at about 230,000, ranking second in the movie attendance rankings from the 17th to the 19th (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha). The screen average (box office revenue per screen) exceeded 2.07 million yen, making it off to a good start.
The movie will have an entirely original story, depicting a "new Hatsune Miku" not featured in the game as she meets the characters of "Project Sekai" and grows as a person.
It will be produced by PAWORKS, who also produced "true tears" and "SHIROBAKO."
