The third episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "A Thousand Visitors at a Glance", aired on January 19th, and featured James Onoda of the popular band Kome Kome Club.
In the third episode, even after Tsutaesu (Yokohama-san) has reformed Yoshiwara Hosomi, he continues to raise funds from the prostitutes and rushes around to create a new book.
Surugaya ( Katsumi Takahashi) is furious and cannot forgive Tsutaju for this, so he kicks him out of his house. Meanwhile, in Edo Castle, Tanuma Okitsugu(Ken Watanabe) is consulting with Shogun Ieharu (Kokoro Terada) back to the Shirakawa Matsudaira family for adoption, which had once been cancelled... and so the story unfolds.
Onoda played the role of the owner of the bathhouse to which Tsutae delivered the "One Glance, a Thousand Books."
On social media, viewers reacted to the appearance of Onoda, who is known for his eccentric costumes, makeup, and headgear in Kome Kome Club, with comments such as, "James!", "James Onoda is here!" and "James Onoda without makeup!" Fans were excited, saying, "Is that James Onoda?", "It's heartwarming to see Ono-chan in a taiga drama," and "Onoda-san's acting is great!"
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
