Taizo Harada of the comedy trio "Neptune" appeared at the stage greeting for the completion ceremony of the movie "Under the Big Onion" (released on February 7th, directed by Shogo Kusano) held in Tokyo on January 15th. He looked back on his love life when he was 15 years old.
The film is a love story inspired by the hit song "Under the Big Onion" released by rock band Bakufu Slump in 1985. The two work at the same part-time job, unaware of each other's true identities, but are drawn to each other through a contact notebook and promise to meet for the first time "under the big onion" (Budokan).
In honor of the release of "Okina Onion no Shita de" in 1985, Harada was asked about his memories of that time and confessed, "I was 15 or 14 years old, so I was in a total rebellious phase." He corrected himself, saying, "My mom was like, 'Taizo, you've left your clothes on!' I was in a rebellious phase, so I said, 'Yes...' I was a very obedient child, now that I think about it. I was kind to my mom."
When asked by the moderator, "Was there a girl you liked at the time?", he explained, "Yes, there was. I think it was a girl called Kana-chan. Sato Kana-chan. She was a girl whose voice sounded just like the voice of an anime called 'Creamy Mami (the Magical Angel)'."
When she revealed, "We dated once, but broke up after about two months, and then I confessed to him 13 times," the audience exclaimed in surprise, "What?!" Harada recalled, "You're shocked, right? I loved him," and gave a wry smile.
Also attending the stage greeting were Fuju Kamio, Sakurada Hiyori, Yamamoto Mizuki, Nakagawa Daisuke, asmi, Nishida Naomi, Eguchi Yosuke, and director Kusano Shogo.
