It has been announced that the movie version of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, an anime based on the manga by Cool Kyoushinsha, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: The Lonely Dragon, will be released on June 27th. The first key visual has been released, depicting Kanna, Kobayashi, and Tohru holding hands as a loving family. A teaser trailer has also been released on YouTube, and the atmosphere is different from the comical images of the TV series, with a sense of unease and a certain sadness, as if the happy life of humans and dragons is threatened. New characters also appear in the teaser trailer.
Additional cast members were also announced, including Yuki Takada as Elma, Minami Takahashi as Lucoa, Daisuke Ono as Fafnir, Yuichi Nakamura as Makoto Takiya, Emiri Kato as Riko Emiri Kato, and Kaori Ishihara as Shota Magatsuchi, just like in the TV series. It was also announced that Shiori Sugiura will be playing the role of Ilulu.

The movie version will be produced by Kyoto Animation, just like the TV anime, and will be directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, who directed the second season of the TV anime "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S." This will be the first time the movie version of the work has been produced.
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid began serialization in Monthly Action (Futabasha) in 2013 and is currently being serialized in Manga Action (same publisher). The story follows Tohru, a dragon girl who lives with Kobayashi, a female office worker, as a maid, as she struggles to help Kobayashi and causes all sorts of trouble. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to April 2017, and the second season aired from July to September 2021.
