It has been announced that the popular Chinese suspense historical drama "Records of the Tang Dynasty: To the West Season 2" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW from March 27th. This is the second season of the drama, in which a young military officer, Lu Lingfeng, played by actor Yang Shuwen, and a sharp coroner, Su Wuming, played by Yang Zhigang, tackle mysterious cases. While the first season was only available for streaming, the second season will be broadcast and streamed exclusively in Japan for the first time.
The story is set in the glorious Tang Dynasty capital of Chang'an. Lu Lingfeng holds an important position as a junior minister of the Dali Temple. When gruesomely mutilated corpses with their livers stolen are discovered one after another, Lu Lingfeng begins an investigation. Eventually, he receives a strange testimony that the culprit is not a human, but a demon king who escaped from the mural "Gou Ma Hen" by Qin Xiaobai, a painter who is acclaimed to be the best in the world. Lu Lingfeng encounters the demon king in Ghost City and confronts him in an attempt to uncover his true identity, but he goes missing.
Meanwhile, Su Wuming, a disciple of the sage Di Renjie but now demoted and serving as a grave keeper, is summoned to Chang'an by the Emperor's orders. Upon learning that Lu Lingfeng's whereabouts are unknown, Su Wuming and her friends search for clues to solve the case while tracking his whereabouts.
"Tang Dynasty Cheat Records Season 2 - To the West -" will have a total of 40 episodes. Starting March 27th, two episodes will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand every Thursday at 8pm. In addition, the first series (36 episodes) will be streamed on WOWOW On Demand from February 1st.
