The first animated film based on the popular smartphone game "Project Sekai Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku (ProSeka)", "Project Sekai the Movie: Broken World and Miku Who Can't Sing", will be released on January 17th. The film has a completely original story, depicting a "new Hatsune Miku" not depicted in the game meeting the characters of "ProSeka" and growing up. We spoke to Noguchi Ruriko, who plays Hoshino Ichika, Isobe Karin, who plays Tenma Saki, and Nakajima Yuki, who plays Hinomori Shiho, members of the childhood friend band unit "Leo/need" that appears in the game and the film, about "ProSeka" and the film.
◇Hatsune Miku is a "natural presence"
--What do Vocaloid songs mean to you?
I've been listening to Isobe-san for a long time!
Noguchi-san is an obvious presence.
Nakajima: I met him when I was in the fourth grade of elementary school. That was when I started using a computer.
Isobe: I also remember Miku-chan appearing in the opening credits of the Red and White Song Battle. I wasn't the type to spend much time on the internet, but I was an otaku, so I listened to the song, and when I saw Miku-chan moving on TV, I was so impressed, how cute!
-What's your favorite song?
There are a lot of Noguchis .
Isobe-san: I love "Romeo and Cinderella"! I listened to it a ton.
Noguchi's favorite is "Melt," which is a classic.
Nakajima-san also likes "The World is Mine," which is a classic. He used to sing it at karaoke.
Noguchi: Depending on the karaoke, some of the core songs might not be included...
Nakajima: There are a lot of songs on the album now, but there were some songs that weren't on the album back then.
When I think about it again, it feels like a dream come true that I can appear in the same games and anime as Miku, who I love so much.
--The original songs on "Leo/need" are also appealing. Which is your favorite?
Nakajima-san, it's difficult!
Noguchi: That's right. "Regulus" is such a cool song that "Leo/need" can sing it! (Mochizuki) It was a song from Honami-chan's event story, so I was shocked by the contrast with Honami-chan.
It fits well with Isobe- san Honami 's story.
Nakajima-san, you 're right! But there are so many great songs, I can't choose just one...
◇ "Leo/need" is heartwarming
--The animated movie will be an original story.
Noguchi: There are a lot of unique characters, so I was looking forward to what would happen in the movie. The interaction with Miku-san, who appears in the movie, is very fresh. Until now, Miku-san who is involved with "Leo/need" was someone who pulled everyone along, but Miku-san who appears in the movie is someone that everyone supports and wants to help. The interaction with Miku-san is a unique charm of the movie. I played the role with a fresh feeling.
I was surprised to hear that Miku-chan will no longer be able to sing. I nearly cried just hearing that. In the game , the characters interacted with each other, but they never got together, so I was curious to see what would happen. Miku-chan in the movie was also very fresh and moving. There were moments where I thought, "Is that even possible?" and the resolution of the world of "ProSeka" was raised. My honest impression is that it will resonate with everyone.
Nakajima : At first, I was surprised and surprised, but I was also happy. When I read the scenario, I thought, "So that's how everyone appears!" In the game, not everyone interacts with each other, so I wondered what would happen. As the title says, Miku can no longer sing, and everyone overcomes this together. It's a story that deepens bonds.
--What is the appeal of "Leo/need"?
Since Noguchi-san and I are childhood friends, the bond between us and the person we understand each other is very strong.
I feel like there is a bond that only childhood friends like Isobe-san can have.
Nakajima-san is a warm and fuzzy person, and her conversations make you want to chuckle. They really warm your heart. There are also some realistic parts that make you think, "I have a classmate like that!"
There are some aspects of Noguchi that make you want to keep an eye on him.
Nakajima: I feel the same way about the movie version. The everyday scenes are a unique charm of the movie version, so I think you'll be able to feel a heartwarming atmosphere.
Isobe: Of course I want you to pay attention to Miku-chan, but I would also like you to see each of them in their everyday lives.
--What was it like recording the movie version?
Nakajima records his games alone, but these three people's schedules matched up so we recorded them together.
Because I was with Noguchi-san , the words came out more naturally. It was a very thankful time, and I felt so happy! I acted while feeling that way.
I was also happy to be able to have a dialogue with Nakajima-san , and since I was recording while imagining the game during the recording, the resolution was higher than usual and I was able to enjoy the recording while incorporating some playfulness.
Isobe: Recording at the same time allowed me to feel each of our breathing. I think I'll be able to remember the movie version when recording for future games. I was very grateful.
