The NHK program "Demolition Kingdom," which sneaks into a demolition site, will air a segment called "Demolition Kingdom: 18m Tall!! Dismantle the Giant Gundam," which closely follows the demolition work of a life-size moving Gundam that is approximately 18m tall, on NHK General TV at 7:57pm on January 8th.
The moving life-size Gundam was installed at GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA at Yamashita Pier in Yokohama from December 2020 to March 2024. Attention is focused on whether all of the parts can be dismantled without causing a single scratch.
The program also follows the demolition site of the Port of Sakata in Yamagata, where a US Navy mine is buried. A huge 40-ton block that protects the safety of the port is to be removed, and a crane ship equipped with a huge crane appears.
