It has been revealed that actor Hikari Ishida will be starring in "Shumatsu Tabi no Gokui 2 ~ Kazoku tte sokutemo wa sofuto mon" (TV Tokyo, Thursday midnight 12:30), which will start on January 9th next year. This will be Ishida's first time starring in a drama series on the same network.
Season 1 of "The Secret of Weekend Trips," starring Arisa Mizuki, aired in July 2023. It attracted attention for its content that explores the relationship between a couple through a weekend trip, as well as its unique travel atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
The theme of this season 2 is "family," and the characters have been completely renewed. The Yamaoka family of four, mother Yuko, father Yoshimasa, eldest daughter Megumi, and eldest son Makoto, had been living under the same roof for a long time, but when the children left home, the family was separated without realizing it. The worries of being a father and mother, the conflicts with the children, and the suffering of the couple within the family... are depicted in the story of a family that intertwines in a "weekend trip."
Ishida plays Yuko, the mother who works part-time at a bakery, while Komoto Masahiro plays Yoshimasa, her husband who works for a pharmaceutical company. Ohara Yuno plays Megumi, the eldest daughter in her third year of work at an insurance company, and Shimamura Ryunosuke plays Makoto, the eldest son, a university student who is absorbed in music and dreams of becoming a soundtrack composer. ORIX HOTELS & RESORTS is also providing special support.
