On October 19th, actress Ryoko Yonekura made a surprise appearance as a secret guest at the fashion and music event "Rakuten GirlsAward 2024 AUTUMN/WINTER," held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City). This was her first time walking down the runway at the event in 11 and a half years, since March 2013.
Yonekura appeared on the stage for Rakuten Mobile, for which she serves as an image character. Her appearance had not been announced, and there were loud cheers when she appeared on stage. Walking down the runway in a vibrant magenta mini-bottom in the same color as Rakuten Mobile's brand color, she smiled and said, "Ah, I was nervous." When asked by host Kasumi Mori about her impressions of appearing at the GirlsAward for the first time in a while, she smiled again and said, "Yes, I was a little nervous."
She then touched on the film "Doctor X: The Movie" (directed by Tamura Naoki), which will be released on December 6th, saying with a trembling voice, "I think even the younger generation knows this, but Nishida Toshiyuki passed away on the 17th..." She then appealed, "This will be the final episode of Doctor X, and it is also the final episode for Nishida, but in the film, Nishida is still very much alive and active. It is a heartfelt movie, so please do come to the theater."
The Girls Awards began in May 2010 and this year marks the 26th time it has been held. Many popular models and actors have walked the runway in trendy fashions, and there have also been live performances by artists such as IS:SUE, Nogizaka46, and Four You. The MCs are Yamazato Ryota, Mori, and Tanaka Juri.
