The three-member band "THE ALFEE" will appear on NHK's music program "SONGS" (General TV, Thursdays at 10pm) on October 17th. Yo Oizumi, the program's producer, will discuss their thoughts on "live performances," which are essential to discussing the band's appeal.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of their debut, and THE ALFEE have performed over 2,900 times in total, the most of any Japanese rock band. They will also talk about what went on behind the scenes at their live performance, which drew 100,000 people, the largest in Japan at the time. The band will also be filmed on location at the band's origins, where they will be reunited with two benefactors who influenced them in the 10 years from their debut to their hits.

In the studio, they will perform a special medley of their signature songs "Merry Ann" and "Hoshizora no Distance." They will also perform "Brave Love ~Galaxy Express 999," Oizumi's favorite THE ALFEE song.
