Additional cast members have been announced for the anime "Nippon Sangoku," based on the manga by Ikka Matsuki which is serialized on "MangaONE" (Shogakukan). Kenyu Horiuchi will play the role of Miyakichi Hei, Shuichiro Umeda will play the role of Shuichiro Umeda, Shunsuke Sakino will play the role of Akii Kura, and Ayumu Murase will play the role of Tsugumi Hiradono.
In anticipation of the anime's broadcast, a special visual has been released featuring the main characters, Aoki Misumi and Yoshitsune Asama, standing side-by-side with Tsutenkaku Tower, a symbol of Osaka, the capital of Yamato, in the background, exuding a strong determination to "change the world." It was also announced that Leina will be performing the ending theme song, "Chikai" (Oath), and a third trailer featuring the song has been released.
"Nippon Sangoku" is set in a near-future world where civilization has collapsed, and depicts the exploits of a young man named Misumi Seiki who aims to reunify Japan, which has been divided into three countries and once again descended into a period of warring states.
The anime is directed by Kazuaki Terazawa, known for "The Ancient Magus' Bride Season 2," and produced by Studio Kafka. Kensho Ono will voice the main character, Seiki Misumi, and other cast members include Jun Fukuyama Asami Seto as Koki Higashimachi, and Takashi Nagasako as Takashi Hiradono. Megumi Han will provide the narration. It will be streamed worldwide on Prime Video from 9 PM on April 5th. It will be available on U-NEXT from 9 PM on April 6th, and will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other channels from midnight on the same day.
