It was revealed on the 3rd that actor Tsuchiya Tao will be making a "surprise appearance" on "All-Star Thanksgiving '24 Autumn," a 5.5-hour program that will be broadcast on the TBS network from 6:30 pm on October 5th. This will be Tsuchiya's second appearance on "All-Star Thanksgiving" in eight years. Her last appearance was during the Akasaka 5-chome Mini Marathon, where she ran at full speed, a scene that is still talked about today.
Tsuchiya will appear in the Sunday Theatre drama "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea," starring Kamiki Ryunosuke, which starts on October 20th (Sundays at 9 pm, first episode extended by 25 minutes). It has already been announced that lead actor Kamiki, Takumi Saito, Hana Sugisaki, and Elaiza Ikeda will appear on the show.
Tsuchiya commented, "Eight years ago, I ran as hard as I could and then disappeared without a trace... but I can finally return to my seat at the Thanksgiving event! I can't run yet, but I want to enjoy it to the fullest as part of the Sunday Theatre 'Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea' team!"
'Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea' is a grand story of love, friendship and family spanning 70 years, set on Hashima Island (Gunkanjima) in Nagasaki Prefecture, which has flourished due to the coal industry since 1955, and in modern-day Tokyo. It is a timeless human love entertainment that depicts the 'era of nothing but dreams and brimming with energy' from the postwar reconstruction period to the period of high economic growth, and the modern era, 'a time when at first glance there seems to be everything but young people cannot have dreams. Tsuchiya plays Yuriko, the daughter of a Takaba Mining employee, and is one of the cast members who live on Hashima and surround Teppei (Kamiki).
