Shueisha's educational manga series on history, "Educational Manga: World History" (18 volumes in total), has been renewed for the first time in about 22 years and released on October 4th. A stellar lineup of manga artists, including Araki Hirohiko, known for the "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" series, Hara Yasuhisa, from "Kingdom," Noda Satoru, from "Golden Kamuy," Horikoshi Kohei, from "My Hero Academia," and Endo Tatsuya, from "SPY×FAMILY," have created covers for each volume.

Hara, who drew Ramses II in the first volume, "Civilizations of the Orient and the Mediterranean," commented, "I'm honored to be able to draw the cover of the first volume. I was asked to draw a pharaoh for the first time. I'm a bit influenced by 'Kingdom', and he's a bit muscular (laughs). I researched as much as I could about his clothing and accessories, but there were many things I didn't know about the ancient period that is the same as 'Kingdom', so I've taken this opportunity to learn more. I'd be very happy if this series inspires more children to love history like I did!"

Araki, who drew Napoleon Bonaparte in the tenth volume, "The French Revolution and the Road to a Nation-State," said, "I tried to make a perfect copy of Napoleon. I tried to keep the colors tricolor. It's easy to learn about historical characters through manga, isn't it?"

As part of Shueisha's 100th anniversary project, a renewed version of "Educational Manga World History" was published. The specifications have been changed from the previous large hardcover to a compact softcover, and the content has also been completely renewed. The price is 1,100 yen each. The complete set is 19,800 yen. Purchasers of the complete set will receive a special bonus: a large double-sided poster that can be hung in the bath, a clear bookmark and memo stand using the cover illustration, and a clear file. Kazulaser and Ando Natsu of the comedy duo "Maple Chogokin" will serve as PR characters.
