It has been announced that Akira Ishida will be appearing as a voice actor in the second season of "Fire Force Season 3," the third season of the TV anime "Fire Force, " based on the manga by Akira Ishida that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha). Ishida will play Daikoku, an elite salaryman who rose to become an executive at Haijima Heavy Industries in the fastest time in history.
Ishida commented, "This work unfolds an exciting story, but the key to this character is that he embodies the feeling of someone who is not driven by a sense of justice or compassion, but rather just doing his job in a dry manner as part of running an organization, so I hope to be able to differentiate him from the other characters in that regard. Also, there's a trap in that the names of Kurono and Daikoku, who act together, are similar in appearance, so please be careful not to get confused."
A teaser trailer was also released, featuring Shinra, who loses consciousness while viewing the world before the "Great Disaster" and wakes up to find himself tied up and with blonde hair. The trailer also shows the Special Fire Fighters dressed in white robes and facing off against their "nemesis" in an effort to prevent the "Great Disaster."
"Fire Force" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" from 2015 to 2022. It depicts the exploits of a special fire brigade team as they confront the terror and mystery of flames amid a phenomenon known as spontaneous human combustion, where people suddenly burst into flames and transform into fiery monsters. The series has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2019, the second from July to December 2020, and the first cour of the third season from April to June. The second cour of the third season will begin airing in January 2026 on the late-night anime block "Animeism" on MBS, TBS, and other networks.
