"New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL", a sequel to the TV anime "New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP", based on the popular tennis manga "New Prince of Tennis" by Konomi Takeshi, will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and other networks from October 2nd. Following the previous work which depicted the qualifying league of the U-17 World Cup, in "SEMIFINAL" Japan and Germany will clash in the semi-finals.

"The Prince of Tennis" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1999 to 2008. It depicts the story of a genius tennis boy, Echizen Ryoma, who rises to prominence in the tennis club of Seishun Academy and grows through battles with rival schools. A new series "New Prince of Tennis" has been serialized in "Jump SQ." (same publisher) since 2009. "The New Prince of Tennis U-17 World Cup" is the first TV series in about 10 years since "The New Prince of Tennis" was broadcast in 2012, and was broadcast from July to September 2022.

In episode 1, "Strongest Germany, Eve of the Showdown!", the Japanese team, which defeated France and advanced to the semi-finals, will face the world's number one powerhouse, Germany, which includes their former teammate Tezuka. Before the battle, Ryoma, who was observing the match between the United States and Switzerland, is informed that Ryoga has disappeared from the team. Meanwhile, Atobe visits Tezuka and offers to be his training partner. Kirihara, who happens to see Atobe entering a facility in Germany, sees Atobe and Tezuka and suspects that Tezuka is a spy.
