It has been announced that the 24th and final episode of the second season of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on 35 stations nationwide starting at 7pm on October 6th, starting with TOKYO MX. It will also be streamed on ABEMA at the same time. The second season is broadcast every Wednesday at 11pm on TOKYO MX, but the final episode will be broadcast in prime time on Sunday.
It was also announced that a live broadcast of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko" live broadcast of "Ichigo Production's Kitchen" - Private Edition -, which looks back on the "Private Edition" of the second season ahead of the broadcast of the final episode, will be released on YouTube on September 30th at 9pm. Ikoma Yurie, who plays Ruby, and Okubo Rumi, who plays MEMcho, will appear.
"Oshi no Ko" is a popular manga written by Akasaka Aka, author of "Kaguya-sama: Love is War" and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo, known for "Scum's Wish," and began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. It depicts the story of twin siblings left behind by a genius idol named Ai, who suddenly dies. The twin sister, Ruby, admires her mother and enters the entertainment industry, while the older brother, Aqua, vows to take revenge on their biological father, who may have been an accomplice in Ai's murder. In the serialization, the story is entering its "final chapter." The comics have sold over 18 million copies in total.
A live-action adaptation has also been announced, with the drama series being streamed on Prime Video from 9:00 pm on November 28, and the sequel movie being released on December 20. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023, and the second season has been airing since July.
