According to the movie attendance ranking for September 6-8 (surveyed by Kogyo Tsushinsha) announced on September 9, "The Last Mile" (directed by Tsukahara Ayuko) topped the list for the third consecutive week. It attracted approximately 317,000 people over the three-day weekend, earning approximately 475 million yen in box office revenue. In total, it attracted 2.13 million people and exceeded 3 billion yen in box office revenue. The film is directed by Tsukahara and written by Nogi Akiko, and is a "shared universe" work that crosses the world lines of the dramas "Unnatural" (2018) and "MIU404" (2020), and is attracting attention.

As a debut work, "Alien: Romulus" (directed by Fede Alvarez), which depicts the story after "Alien" released in 1979, ranked second. It attracted approximately 193,000 people over the three days from the first day of release, earning approximately 319 million yen in box office revenue.  Among existing works, Disney & Pixar's animated film "Inside Out 2" (directed by Kelsey Mann) ranked 3rd with an audience of approximately 123,000 people and a box office revenue of approximately 166 million yen over the three-day weekend.

"Kingdom: The Return of the General" (directed by Sato Shinsuke), which came in 6th place, has attracted a total of 5.13 million people and exceeded 7.5 billion yen in box office revenue. The seventh place anime movie "My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next" (directed by Okamura Tensai) has attracted a total of 2.18 million viewers and grossed over 3.1 billion yen.
