The "Kamen Rider 55th Anniversary Announcement Event," which revealed future developments and new projects for the "Kamen Rider" series, which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year, was held in Tokyo on April 3rd. It was revealed that a 20th-anniversary project for "Kamen Rider Den-O" (2007-08) has begun. It was also announced that a new movie will be produced.
As the second installment of the "Kamen Rider Chronicle" label, which features works by legendary Kamen Riders throughout history, a new movie is being produced following "Agito - Superpower War -" (released on April 29th). A commemorative logo was also unveiled, and Toei's Senior Executive Officer, Shinichiro Shirakura, while mentioning that next year is the anniversary year for "Den-O," said, "We've already made the logo. You could say it's a bit of a 'premature launch'... fitting for Den-O," drawing laughter from the audience.
Shirakura announced, "This project will expand beyond just the film and will have various other developments. It's a project that will show a wide reach. In addition to simply announcing the work, we will hold a multimedia presentation this year or next year to explain how we will develop the entire 'Den-O' project." He added, "This has turned into an announcement about holding a presentation, so please look forward to further updates."
"Kamen Rider Den-O" is a Kamen Rider series with a train motif, starring Takeru Satoh. The story depicts how Ryotaro Nogami (Sato), a young man with "incredibly bad luck," fights as Den-O, a warrior who protects the flow of time, while the Imagin, invaders from the future, try to alter the past, working together with his Imagin allies.
