NHK's Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , will air a recap of its first week, "Tsubasa to Katana" (March 30 - April 3), on April 4th.
" Kaze,Kaoru" is the 114th morning Asadora. Based on the story of two trained nurses, Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki, who graduated from the same nursing school, the drama depicts how the two grow through their struggles and clashes with each other in how to interact with patients and doctors, and eventually become the "ultimate buddy" team. Mikami plays the main character, Rin Ichinose, and Uesaka plays the other main character, Naomi Oya.
The script is written by Tomoko Yoshizawa, who has worked on a wide range of genres, from comedies and family dramas to medical dramas and period dramas. The theme song is "Kaze to Machi" by the three-member band "Mrs. Green Apple".
In the first week, we learn about Ichinose Rin (played by Mikami), who was born in Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture, as the eldest daughter of a former chief retainer. By the time she was old enough to remember, her father, Shin'emon (played by Kazuki Kitamura), had returned to farming, and she lived happily with her mother, Mitsu (played by Mizuno Miki), and younger sister, Yasu (played by Hayasaka Miharu), as a family of four. Then one day, the mother of her childhood friend, Kotaro (played by Kobayashi Toranosuke), falls ill, and Kotaro becomes an outcast in the village.
Rin tries to cheer up Kotaro, but it doesn't work. Seeing Rin feeling down, Shin'emon begins to tell her about his past. However, Shin'emon also falls ill and passes away. Then, by chance, Rin meets Oyama Sutematsu (played by Mikako Tabe), the "Flower of the Rokumeikan."
Meanwhile, Naomi Oya (played by Uesaka), who had no family and continued to live in poverty in Tokyo, read an article about the wedding reception of Sutematsu and Iwao Oyama (played by Masahiro Takashima), and began to take an interest in America...and so the story unfolded.
