It has been announced that the TV anime "Puniru is a Cute Slime," based on Maeda-kun's romantic comedy manga currently being serialized on the manga site "Weekly CoroCoro Comic," a part of Shogakukan's manga magazine "CoroCoro Comic," will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliates every Sunday at 11:45 p.m. starting October 6th. It has also been revealed that Shimizu Risa will play the school's Madonna, Kirara Mami, who is like a saint, Enoki Junya will play the frivolous-looking Nanpa Yusuke, and Hanamori Yumiri will play the arrogant young lady, Okanega Alice.
A key visual has also been released, depicting Puniru, the slime who has transformed into a beautiful girl, and Kotaro, Kirara Mami, Nanpa Yusuke, and Okanega Alice, who are all at the mercy of Puniru. It has also been announced that Puniru, played by Shinohara Yuu, will sing the opening theme "Gyum!", and the second promotional video featuring the song has been released on YouTube. The announcement was made at a stage event held at the Tokyo Toy Show 2024, Japan's largest toy trade fair, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on August 31.
Shimizu commented, "She has a shocking side, but I want to portray that duality in an appealing way. Oh my my my! I'll do my best, mom! Thank you!"
Enoki said, "Minami is a character with an interesting side, so I want to play her while thinking of parts of my own experience that are close to that side, and have fun playing the role." Hanamori said, "Strong, cute, and rich! I'll do my best with Runrun and my maid Takayo to deliver Alice who has all three of the best qualities!"
The manga depicts the exciting life of the main character, a boy named Kotaro, and his slime Puniru, who he created. Kotaro is at the mercy of Puniru's free-spirited behavior, as she transforms into an incredibly beautiful girl with her ever-changing body. The series began serialization in March 2022.
