The "Public of the Year 2025" awards, which celebrate people and their actions that move and connect society as symbols of the year, have selected Miyakumyaku, the official mascot of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Expo, and Yamashita Kohei, who designed Miyakumyaku, among others. Miyakumyaku also made an appearance at the awards ceremony held in Tokyo on December 2nd.
The award ceremony was hosted by actor Yosuke Eguchi and freelance announcer Anna Nakagawa.
