It has been announced that "Maebashi Maebashi Witches Maebashi Witches ," which depicts the growth of five high school students aiming to become witches in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, will be released on October 23rd. It was also announced that Yuki Iwai of the comedy duo "Haraichi," who has been involved with " Maebashi Witches" since the TV series aired, will be in charge of writing the lyrics for the theme song of the theatrical compilation film.
The theatrical compilation film will see the original staff, including director Junichi Yamamoto and series composition/screenwriter Erika Yoshida, reunited to reconstruct the TV series into a 120-minute theatrical film. Movie tickets will go on sale at participating theaters from July 3rd.
"Maebashi Witches" is a coming-of-age story about five high school girls in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, depicting their growth as they face various challenges while aiming to become witches. Yamamoto served as director, and Yoshida, who worked on the NHK Asadora drama "The Tiger and Her Wings" and the anime "Bocchi the Rock!", was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. It was produced by SUNRISE Studios. The TV anime aired from April to June 2025.
