An event commemorating the completion of the three-part theatrical film series "Mononoke: The Movie," based on the popular TV anime "Mononoke ," will be held on November 14th at THE GRAND HALL (Minato-ku, Tokyo). Hiroshi Kamiya(voice of the Medicine Seller), Tomoyo Kurosawa (voice of Asa), Yoko Hikasa (voice of Fuki Tokita), Daisuke Hosomi (voice of Sakashita), and General Director Kenji Nakamura will appear to talk about behind-the-scenes stories of the production and the thoughts behind the characters, things that can only be told now that the theatrical film trilogy has concluded.
The event will consist of two performances: a daytime show and an evening show. Details about the program and other information will be announced later on the official website and official social media accounts.
"Mononoke: The Movie" is set in the Ooku (women's quarters of Edo Castle), a place swirling with the passions of women, and follows a medicine seller as he tries to uncover the true identity of the "Mononoke." The first chapter, "Karakasa," was released in July 2024, the second chapter, "Hinezumi," in March 2025, and the final chapter, the third chapter, "Hebigami," was released on May 29th.
"Mononoke" is an anime produced by the same staff who worked on the popular episode "Bakeneko" from "Ayakashi," which aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina anime block in 2006. It aired on Noitamina in 2007. The story depicts a supernatural tale in which the medicine seller who appeared in "Bakeneko" confronts a Mononoke.
