The first episode of "What Happened After the War?", a 30th-anniversary program for "After War Gundam X, " a popular anime series in the "Gundam" franchise, has been released on YouTube and other platforms. Wataru Takagi , who voices the protagonist Garrod Ran , and Mika Kanai, who voices the heroine Tiffa Adill, reminisce about their memories from when the series was airing, and Kenyu Horiuchi, who voices Jamil Neate, also contributes a message. The program's first episode, episode 0, was released on May 1st and has already garnered over 320,000 views, becoming a hot topic.
Horiuchi wrote, "Thirty years have passed in the blink of an eye, but the cast and production staff are all incredibly energetic, and every recording session felt like a wrap party. We never actually kept our promise to have a drink or one last drink to finish things off. But in the end, we always ended up talking passionately about acting. I've been hearing more and more stories from people who grew up watching 'Gundam X' as children. It's incredibly special and makes me so happy that a work that people were exposed to back then continues to exist, supported by so many fans."
It was also announced that "Gundam DX Face Fans (1 type)" and "Original Balloons (4 types, random)" will be distributed at the Gundam official booth at the "Chayamachi Oshi Festival 2026" event, which will be held in the Umeda and Chayamachi areas of Osaka on June 20th and 21st. The stage event " After War Gundam X 30th Anniversary Stage" will be held on June 21st at Josho Hall (Kita-ku, Osaka), and Takagi-san and Kanai-san will appear.
"After War Gundam X" aired from April to December 1996 as the third installment of the Alternative series. It depicts the resurgence of a world war and its consequences from the perspective of Earth (the Vulture ship Freeden), which suffered unprecedented damage from a colony drop. The story centers on the battle between the Freeden and the New Earth Federation Forces and the Space Revolutionary Army, with major themes including Garrod's growth as he struggles to protect Tiffa and the existence of "Newtypes" who transcend humanity.
