It was revealed on May 27th that "Dragon Quest Monsters 4: Bianca & Flora of the Withered Tree Kingdom," the latest installment in the "Dragon Quest Monsters" series (Square Enix), is being developed for Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms. The announcement was made in a video commemorating the 40th anniversary of the RPG "Dragon Quest," which was released on the same day. In addition to Switch 2, the game will also be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Microsoft Store on Windows.
"Dragon Quest Monsters" is an RPG where players recruit, train, and breed various monsters from the "Dragon Quest" series to create the strongest party. The first game in the series, "Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland," was released for the Game Boy in 1998, and the series has since expanded to over 10 titles, with over 10 million copies shipped and downloaded worldwide.
The newly announced "4" features Bianca and Flora from "Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride" as the main characters, and the story follows the two girls as they connect with monsters and embark on a new adventure.
The video also announced that the development of the latest "Dragon Quest" title, "Dragon Quest XII," has been restarted with changes to the development system, and Yuji Horii, the creator of the series, said, "I think this one (Dragon Quest Monsters 4) will probably come out first."
