The show's popularity began to soar after the opening credits, when the theme song played, reaching 73.2% at 8:03 AM. From there, the ratings fluctuated in the 70% range for a total of 11 minutes until the ending at 8:14 AM. The only time it dropped into the 60% range was at 69.5% at 8:07 AM. It was an episode that consistently maintained viewer interest.
◇In the operating room, Rin & Naomi vs. Fuyu
The moment the viewership rose above 70% for the first time that day, at 8:03 AM (73.2%), Assistant Professor Fujita (Ryotaro Sakaguchi) came into the nurses' station and told Fuyu that "the nurses should be taught nursing techniques by the nursing trainees." Watching this, one can only sense trouble brewing, and Fuyu immediately raises her voice in dissatisfaction, asking, "What do you mean?"
As expected, clashes between nurses and nursing trainees occur frequently afterward. Episode 42 is a series of such scenes.
The level of attention gradually increased towards the end, and from 8:11 AM (74.1%) to the ending at 8:14 AM (74.6%), the ratings remained in the 74% range, except for 8:13 AM (71.6%). This can be described as a scene in which viewer attention remained extremely high.
At 8:11 AM, the scene shifts to after Rin and Naomi attended an emergency surgery. As Rin and Naomi apologize for their inability to do anything, their assistant, Kurokawa (played by Hirano Seisei), reveals that Chikako's successful surgery has led to an increase in requests for more attentive nursing care. He explains, "Patients feel reassured knowing there was a nurse in the operating room. That's all there is to it." Fuyu's reaction to this is excellent: "As expected of an intern. Just being there makes them happy, huh?"
Naomi glares at Fuyu, but Rin bows her head and says, "Please teach me how to assist in surgery." Fuyu replies, "Okay," but adds, "Only if you pay me." This is about 11 minutes into the video.
At 8:12 AM (74.3%), the trainees return to the dormitory and start badmouthing the nurses' treatment. The scene around 8:14 a.m. mainly takes place in the tenement where Fuyu lives. Fuyu is washing laundry in a basin, but perhaps due to the day's fatigue, she sighs and occasionally pauses, making gestures as if massaging her shoulders. At that moment, a man's voice calls out from a distance, "Hey!" Fuyu stands up and begins walking in the direction of the voice. It seems that the situation Naomi described as "having no money and being desperate" is about to be depicted. There is almost no dialogue, only the sound of a cat meowing and water.
