It has been revealed that "My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON" was chosen as Anime of the Year at the "Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026," hosted by Crunchyroll, a major US anime streaming service. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1 - Akaza's Return" was chosen as Film of the Year.
The Best Animation Award went to "Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-", the Best New Series Award went to "Gachiakuta", the Best Original Animation Award went to "LAZARUS", and the Best Director Award went to Akira The Apothecary Diaries". The Global Impact Award was presented to the late Tatsuya Nagamine, known for his work on "HeartCatch PreCure!", "HappinessCharge PreCure!", "Dragon Ball Super", and "ONE PIECE".
The awards ceremony was held in Tokyo on the 23rd of the 5th, and director Kenji Nagasaki, who worked on "My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON," expressed his joy, saying, "My Hero Academia has reached its 10th anniversary since its broadcast began, and we were able to successfully conclude it last year. I am truly happy to receive this award as the culmination of all that work."
The awards ceremony was hosted by John Kabira (left) and Sally Amagi, and featured guests such as Kasumi Arimura, Asuka Saito, Nanase Nishino, Enako, and The Weeknd.
