The fifth episode of the TV Asahi drama series "My Cheating Husband with 3 Months to Live" (Fridays at 11:15 PM, excluding some regions), starring actor Jin Shirasu, will air on May 22nd.
Having been given a terminal diagnosis, Aoi Kosaka (played by Shirasu) decides to divorce her wife, Mizuki (played by Sakurai Hinako), who is having an affair and after her inheritance, in order to gain custody of her son, Ren. Determined to return to her son, Ren (played by Ono Koshiro), as soon as possible, she hastily proceeds with the procedures for being discharged from the hospital and returns home with her colleagues, Iwasaki Kazuki (Kohei Shoji), Fujino Mari (played by Yua Shinkawa Yua), and her sister, Kaede (played by Hinami Mori), who came to visit her, but Mizuki and Ren are nowhere to be found.
Then Mizuki calls, saying she's at Aoi's parents' house with Ren. Mizuki is using the facade of a modest wife to try and win over Aoi's father, Tatsuo (Kazuhiko Nishimura). Mizuki bravely tells Tatsuo about her upbringing, but what she says is far from the truth...
The real reason Mizuki went to Aoi's family home was to escape from her mother, Ayami Kano (played by Mariko Tsutsui), who suddenly appeared in front of her house. Mizuki had lied to Aoi, telling her that her parents were already dead, but in reality, they were in prison and had appeared in front of Mizuki the moment they were released.
When her "toxic parent" Ayami suddenly appears before her, Mizuki's childhood trauma resurfaces, causing her great distress. She seeks help from her lover, Sunayama Kenji (Takahashi Mitsuomi), but he quickly rejects her, not wanting to get involved in anything troublesome. Desperate, Mizuki takes even more extreme actions, desperate to win back Kenji's affections by taking all of Aoi's inheritance.
Having gained Tatsuo on her side, Mizuki suddenly turns against Chiko (Rio Teramoto), who had collaborated with Aoi to frame her, and seeks revenge. Furthermore, she withdraws money from Aoi's bank account and demands that if she wants it back, Aoi change the beneficiary of the insurance policy to just Mizuki.
Mizuki's unbelievable behavior, now completely defiant, finally pushes Aoi to her breaking point. Desperate to find a way to bring Ren back from her family home as quickly as possible, Aoi takes advantage of Mizuki's belief that she can marry Kenji if she gives him 100 million yen, and confronts Kenji directly to try and get him to admit that he has no intention of marrying Mizuki.
