The broadcast and streaming lineup for July to September has been announced for "Fumiya Fujii x WOWOW Special Feature -FUTATABI-", a collaboration between singer-songwriter Fumiya Fujii and WOWOW that began in April 2025.
Fujii is currently on his second 47-prefecture tour, "FUTATABI," from April 2025 to July of this year, and WOWOW is broadcasting and streaming special programs in conjunction with the tour.
In July, under the title "Fumiya Fujii CONCERT TOUR 2023 Special LoveSong," the concert held on April 23, 2023, at the Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka, Kita-ku, Osaka) Main Hall will be broadcast and streamed.
2023 marks a significant milestone: 40 years since his debut on the major music scene as the vocalist of The Checkers in 1983, and 30 years since he officially began his solo career with the mega-hit "TRUE LOVE," released in 1993, the year after the band disbanded. The tour kicked off with concerts at Festival Hall (Kita-ku, Osaka) on February 3rd and 4th, followed by performances at hall-sized venues across Japan. The concerts centered around his album "Mizuiro to Sorairo," released in November 2022, and featured a setlist of carefully selected "three-star love songs" from his 30-year career.
The lineup for August and September is as follows:
"Fumiya Fujii 40th Anniversary FINAL in Nippon Budokan" (scheduled to be broadcast/streamed in August): This broadcast and stream will feature footage from the concert held at Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on June Getsuku, 2024. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of his debut with The Checkers, he embarked on his first-ever anniversary tour, visiting all 47 prefectures of Japan, for approximately 10 months starting in September 2023. The Nippon Budokan performance was the final show of the tour.
"Fumiya Fujii Documentary Special ~Now and Tomorrow~" (scheduled to air/stream in September): This special program marks the conclusion of the large-scale collaborative project between Fujii and WOWOW, "Fumiya Fujii 40th Anniversary Special," which has been running monthly for over a year since April 2023. The program will look back on the anniversary year, closely following the "Fumiya Fujii 40th Anniversary Tour 2023-2024," a nationwide tour of all 47 prefectures that started in September 2023, and the "40th Anniversary FINAL in Nippon Budokan" held in June. In addition to live footage, it will also include interviews with Fujii himself conducted during the tour, and backstage footage including rehearsals.
