It has been announced that Tomo Nagawa's manga "Why Don't You Become a Tanuki?" (Ichijinsha), which is serialized on the manga website "comic POOL," will be adapted into a TV anime. This "heartwarming tanuki manga" follows people who are tired of trying so hard as they re-examine themselves through their encounters with tanuki, and the latest volume, volume 10, will be released on May 25th. The anime will be directed by Jun Kamiya, known for "Kingdom" and "Let's Make a Mug Too," and produced by Nippon Animation, known for "Rascal the Raccoon" and "Chibi Maruko-chan."
A teaser visual depicting a raccoon dog standing in the forest, and a Teaser trailer showing raccoon dogs running around freely in nature, have been released.
Original author Nagawa commented, "I have learned so much from Nippon Animation's works since I was a child, and I am deeply honored to have this opportunity to be involved in this way. This is all thanks to everyone who has supported me on a daily basis. Thank you so much. I would be happy if the anime OmaTan could gently resonate with viewers' hearts and leave them with a warm feeling whenever they remember it."
