It has been announced that Kensho Ono and Kenta Miyake will be joining the cast of the TV anime "Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!", based on Harunori's "classic BL comedy" manga. Ono will play Takao Matsumura, Hirose's middle school classmate, and Miyake will play Nobu Todoroki, Hirose's old friend. Takao Matsumura and Nobu Todoroki will appear in episode 8, "Pinch! A Rival Appears!?", which will air late at night on May 20th. A still from episode 8 has also been released.
"Go for it, Nakamura-kun!!" is a popular manga series that depicts the fantasies and reckless actions of Nakamura Otoko, a shy high school boy, as he experiences unrequited love for his classmate, Hirose Aiki, in a style reminiscent of the 1980s and 90s. The manga is published by Heroes.
The anime is directed by Aoi Umeki, who also handles the script and character design. Drive is producing it. Chiaki Kobayashi voices Okuto Nakamura, and Yuki Sakakibara voices Aki Hirose. It is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other channels.
