The first part of " Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movement," a theatrical film adaptation of "Sound! Euphonium 3," the third season of the TV anime " Sound! Euphonium " based on the novel by Ayano Takeda , got off to a good start, ranking 4th in the box office attendance rankings (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha) for April 24-26.
The first part was released on April 24th. The opening scene of the first part has been released on YouTube. New cuts depict the day when the protagonist, Kumiko Oumae, receives a notebook containing the sheet music for the title song " Sound! Euphonium" from her senior, Asuka Tanaka, and the two play the euphonium together. Viewers can also enjoy a brass band cover of Gen Hoshino's hit song "Koi".
"Sound! Euphonium" depicts the growth of the brass band members, including euphonium player Kumiko Oumae, at Kitauji High School. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2015, the second season from October to December 2016, and the third season from April to July 2024. "The Final Movement" is a compilation of edited footage from the third season of the TV anime, with many new scenes added. The second part will be released on September 11th.
