Ren Meguro of the popular group "Snow Man" appeared at an event for his starring film "SAKAMOTO DAYS" (directed by Yuichi Fukuda, released on April 29th) held at Lalaport Toyosu Seaside Deck (Koto Ward, Tokyo) on April 27th. Meguro was in Canada for an extended period of filming and returned to Japan temporarily for the event. This was Meguro's first time participating in an event for the film in person. Cheers erupted when he appeared on stage, and Meguro responded to the cheers with a smile.
It was unfortunately rainy that day, but the rain subsided during the event and a rainbow appeared in the sky. Meguro greeted the audience by saying, "I came all the way from Canada feeling happy that 'SAKAMOTO DAYS' is finally going to be released to everyone." Co-stars Fumiya Takahashi, Mayu Yokota, Akihisa Shiono, Keisuke Watanabe, Junki Tozuka, Yusei Yagi, Meru Nukumi, Takumi Kitamura, and director Fukuda also appeared at the event.
"SAKAMOTO DAYS" is a live-action adaptation of the manga of the same name by Yuto Suzuki, which is serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) and has sold over 15 million copies worldwide (including digital editions). The script is written by director Fukuda, known for the "Gintama" series and "From Today, It's My Turn!! The Movie." It's a solid action story about Taro Sakamoto (Meguro), a former legendary hitman who runs a shop after retiring, and who fights against assassins with his friends to protect the peaceful everyday life he has with his beloved family.
