The third episode of the TBS Sunday drama "GIFT," starring actor Shinichi Tsutsumi, aired on April 26th, and achieved an average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region) of 8.5% for households and 5.0% for individuals.
The drama is set in the world of wheelchair rugby, a parasport, and tells the story of Fumito Gotetsu (played by Tsutsumi), a genius astrophysicist, who finds answers to difficult problems facing a weak team, while learning the importance of friends and family. Yuki Yamada and Kasumi Arimura also appear in the drama.
Episode 3 was broadcast under the title "Finally, a real coach and ace?! The birth of the new Bulls!"
Keijiro (Honda Kyoya), a young delinquent in a wheelchair, joins the Bulls, but his self-centered behavior puts the team in a terrible mood. Ryo (Yamada) abandons practice, saying he's quitting out of resentment towards Gotetsu (Tsutsumi). Scolded by the players, Gotetsu impulsively declares the Bulls are disbanding. Hino (Kichise Michiko) tells Hitoka (Arimura) about the past rivalry between Ryo and former Bulls players Taniguchi (Kanata Hosoda) and Kunimi (Ken Yasuda Ken). Just then, Gotetsu heads to his arch-rival's location...
