To commemorate the TV anime adaptation of Kamome Shirahama's popular manga "Atelier of Witch Hat," which is serialized in "Monthly Morning Two" (Kodansha), Kodansha's web manga service "Comic DAYS" has launched a campaign offering all previously published volumes of the manga for free. Chapters 1 through 88, which are included in volumes 1 through 15, will be available for free until 11:59 PM on April 22nd.
Author Shirahama commented, "Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed 'Witch Hat Atelier,' and to those who will pick it up in the future. When I'm drawing this work, I get a very strange feeling, as if someone is making me draw memories that I myself have not witnessed. If you'd like, I would love for you to join me in witnessing this mysterious journey."
"Atelier of Witch Hat" tells the story of Coco, a girl who longs to be a wizard, as she steps into the mysterious world of magic. The manga began serialization in "Monthly Morning Two" in 2016, and has sold over 7.5 million copies. It has been selected for manga awards in France, Spain, South Korea, and other countries, and in 2020 won the Eisner Award for Best Asian Work, attracting attention from around the world. The latest volume, volume 16, will be released on April 23rd.
The TV anime is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other channels.
