To commemorate the release of the 100th and final volume of Kimiko Uehara's manga "Inochi no Utsuwa" (Akita Shoten), which is set in an obstetrics and gynecology clinic, Akita Shoten's manga website "Champion Cross" will be making all chapters of volumes 1 through 99 completely free for a limited time of 100 hours. The period is from 11:00 AM on April 16th to 3:00 PM on April 20th.
"Inochi no Utsuwa" (Vessel of Life) is a human drama in which obstetrician Kyoko Ariyoshi, while encountering her husband, children, and patients with various circumstances, learns about the preciousness of life and the bonds of family. It began serialization in the manga magazine "Eve Special for Mrs." in 1991, and continued serialization after becoming a monthly magazine "For Mrs." in 1995, becoming a flagship work of the magazine and the longest-running series with the same title. In 1998, it was adapted into a drama starring actress Azusa Watanabe.
The series concluded in the April issue of "For Mrs.", released on March 3rd, bringing its approximately 35-year run to a close.
